Quite the creative craftsman with just beautiful hand finished work.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cdiv dir=\"auto\"\u003e\n\u003cspan\u003eNumber 19\u003c\/span\u003e\n\u003cdiv dir=\"auto\"\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv dir=\"auto\"\u003e\n\u003cspan\u003eThis knife\/sheath is a modern version of a Viking Age relic from antiquity.  It has a Puronvarsi blade 3  7\/8 in. length, and it was made in Finland.    This highly polished blade is made of Krupp C75 steel, and it is rhombic in cross section.  The handle is made from Buckthorn wood with acrylic “mastodon ivory” and black micarta accent pieces.  The bolsters are polished brass.  \u003c\/span\u003e\n\u003cdiv dir=\"auto\"\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv dir=\"auto\"\u003eThe sheath is made of veg. tanned steer hide.  He used 20 gauge (.8 mm. ) bronze sheet for the shaped pieces on the edge of the sheath.  This is thicker than what one usually sees on this type of sheath.  It did not bend or pucker when riveted, and resulted in a smooth, even appearance.  The chain, O-ring, and shackle were formed from 1\/8” and 3\/16” (for the shackle) brass rods.  Rivets are all brass.  Tooling on the sheath is based on Viking Age designs.  The belt loop is made of chrome tanned shoe leather. \u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv dir=\"auto\"\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv dir=\"auto\"\u003eBlade Length: 3 7\/8\"\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv dir=\"auto\"\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv dir=\"auto\"\u003eOverall length: 9\"\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv dir=\"auto\"\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv dir=\"auto\"\u003eThis has a longer handle than most that we have seen from John but this is quite traditional and comfortable in my opinion.
