Helle Fjellkniven (NEW) 12c27 Blade

This was my first Helle but not my first scandi style knife. The handle is comfortable and the guard and pommel hold my hand in place well, it’s also a gorgeous piece of wood. The blade is very nicely polished, the grind is even and it came shaving sharp. I believe it’s a true scandi grind but i’ll probably put a micro bevel on it. It carves well, and even stood up to some light batonning without any trouble. The spine of the blade is smooth and rounded and will not strike a ferro rod. That’s not a problem for me but it’s worth mentioning. The sheath holds it well, but it does feel a little plastic and won’t take hardly any oil. Overall I give the knife 5/5, though I would like a sheath made of full grain leather, even if it was raw and needed a good oiling.
