Meet Redbeard

Hi, I’m Redbeard, the owner of Ragweed Forge. I’ve always had a thing for well-made knives, especially the simple, honest designs coming out of Scandinavia. As someone who spends a lot of time outdoors hunting, fishing, and exploring, I’ve come to rely on tools that don’t let you down.

In the spring of 2024, I traveled through Scandinavia and visited some of the factories behind the knives I’ve admired for years. I got to meet the makers, see how the blades come together, and learn more about the traditions that go into every one of them. It gave me an even deeper respect for the craft and the people keeping it alive.

Back home, in Upstate New York, I test everything I sell. If a knife’s in the store, it’s because I’ve put it through its paces and know it holds up. If you ever have a question or need help picking the right one, just ask. I’m happy to help.
