Best of the best

Loved this knife. It came quickly offered a Veterans discount. I was a nice surprise and its quality was incredible. Feels good in the hand, and I have a large hand a lot of attention to detail on the handle, which has that little swoop that he comes up with every now and then on its knives Makes it really easy to handle

Nice medium size knife. Thinner handle than it looks.

My Comments
Ragweed Forge was great! Great prices, Fast shipping and Careful, safe packaging. My first purchase but not my last.
Thanks for that.

Pros
• This is only only a Moderate duty knife, capable of most Hunting and Bushcraft work. Not suitable for Batoning wood due to the narrow stick tang.
• Thin Medium Girth, Medium size, Utility / Hunter Fixed Blade knife. Lighter than it looks!
• Blade stock is actually 2.85mm / 0.113” thick, from spine down to the Scandi grind start point making for a strong tip. The True Flat Scandi grind width is 0.250” wide.
• Blade Height of 24.7mm / 0.973” reduces knife weight.
• Feels neutral in the hand due to the almost straight back spine and slightly dropping tang. Handle spine is sweeping and is only slightly arched. It doesn’t have the pronounced humpback center arch of the Nord or Nordlys. This one piece wood handle has a slender, thin oval cross section with rounded long edges. It has a soft feel. No sharp edges. Handle features a deep front finger, lower choil. I like it but the handle length is too short for a Full Fist grip. As such the handle shape promotes a ‘Thumb Forward’ grip.
• Beautiful, Smooth, Light Curly Birch wood and Mirror Polished blade makes for a beautiful knife!
• The True Scandi ground blade with very acute edge will be a great ‘Feather Stick’ maker.
• A wide flange, single top rivet, attaches the Non-Swinging, one piece, short belt loop to the sheath and should be secure enough to not pull through if handled roughly.
• The True Scandi edge should only require slack belt stropping to bring the edge back.
Cons
• Brown sheath is made of thin, stiff, lightweight leather and has no drain hole at the bottom.
• Knife is not suitable for Batoning wood due to the narrow stick tang.
• The H3LS blade steel has a very soft AISI 303 Stainless outer layer and scratches easily.
• No thumb jimping on blade spine or anywhere on the knife.
• Handle is somewhat short length, with only slight side to side ‘Palm Swells’. Not very hand filling. A ‘Fist Grip’ is slightly cramped. Handle looks deep when viewed from the side but girth is fairly small because it is quite thin side to side. Medium Girth, 95mm behind finger choil, very slight ‘Palm Swells’
• The very smooth handle wood is beautiful, but slick.
