Helle 04 Scout Blade first impressions:

Well this little blade is just the right size for an everyday, do it all kind of knife. I’ve had this little gem for a couple of weeks now but haven’t decided as to which handle material would do it justice. This blade is really sharp right out of the box but I’ll have to tweak it some in order to bring it to it’s best edge. The Helle laminated stainless steel can’t be beat at this price and this blade is going to perform well no matter how I end up finishing the knife.
I am very pleased with this purchase from Ragweed as always. Their service and prompt shipping has really surprised me in a positive way.
A lot of other companies should look to them for pointers on how to cater to their customers.
I couldn’t be happier!

Perfect Size

This is a very attractive and well made knife. the polished steel is very nice and the wood in the handle is exceptional, as is the sheath. But the main reason I like this knife is its size, it is not too small to be useful or too large to be unwieldy. It feels good in the hand.

4 sided strop

The cork handle is comfortable and great to work with when your hands are cold and wet. The blade was almost shaving sharp. It was my son’s prized birthday present.

Knives without clips

Works great not only for a sheath, but to attach a folding knife in your pocket when it has no clip. I wanted a Helle Bleja, but was afraid of drilling into the scales to place a clip on it in the right spot. Talked to Ragweed and I came up with this option: to put the clip through the lanyard hole, and can still keep the knife in my front pocket.

Very handy blade size

I've been looking for a small bowie blade with a high quality steel for my personal knife. This is a great size for daily carry in the field.

I used leftover bits and pieces - African blackwood, cocobolo, some brass I had on hand. Very pleased with this blade and always pleased with Ragweed.
