Christopher Whiting has been ordering our blades for a few years now. He often sent some pictures of his work and as you can see, they are beautiful! We had offered for quite some time to showcase some of his work and he finally took us up on the offer! We now have them available for you to purchase!
The puukko is a Scandinavian knife that has been made for centuries. The blade is a 3” Stainless, Finnish blade made by Lauri. The Finns manufacture elegant blades with superior cutting function. The blade is cemented in the handle with epoxy resin.
The Classic handle is linear Black & White Ebony interspaced with black and orange nylon spacers. It is finished with a matt finish called Danish Oil, and a light, hand rubbed, beeswax. You can rub linseed oil or lemon oil on it to brighten it up. The sheath is
from vegetable tanned leather, which allows for wet forming.
The hanger is inserted through the sheath wet and then smoothed to finish. The hanger loop is held by friction only. The sheath is sewn with 20# braided fish-line and is dyed Cordovan. Embossed on the sheath side are maker’s initials CW. The hanger loop buttons are deer antler, sewn on after the sheath is dyed. I would recommend keeping the sheath
dry.
Blade length: 3"

All of the work that we have seen from Grendal Blades has shown exceptional craftsmanship. We can tell Christopher enjoys every little detail from the choice of the blade to the perfect fitting wet formed sheath. We hope you can now enjoy it as well!
