I'm a huge fan of the the Mora Eldris, and wanted to make something similar, but with my own spin. I make magic wands, and I look at my carving knives as my wands. I handled it with bog oak, lapis lazuli, and silver.
Just received this blade but love the look of it and can’t wait to create a handle! Thank you Ragweed Forge!
This is a very nice small blade that will have a lot of uses. I don’t like the handle that Helle uses on its Nying knife, but now I can use this blade to make one of my own. It is a great sharp thin blade.
Absolute perfection. Thank you 👍 ❤️
Can do everything a bushcrafter needs to do. Great kitchen knife also.
Love the visibility, and the grip 90 degree spine is great
VERY NICE!!!!
Bought this for a project and so glad i did. I needed a longer, thinner blade for kitchen chores, but didn't want the flexibility of a fillet. This came razor sharp as always. Made a great Christmas present.
Keeping in mind this is for knives that have a taper at the rear of the blade, this also worked with a Lauri carving knife i recently purchased, with a little filing. I ordered this on accident not realizing there was a straight version AND a tapered version. No burrs to contend with, and a lot of extra material left for final shaping. thanks!
I bought two of these 12-13 years ago from Ragweed when my son was in scouts. They are still used today by both of us and have taken much abuse over the years. I have batoned it many times and it is none the worse for wear and even used it with a piece of quartz to throw a spark on char cloth once. I liked the handle so much I made a pattern for it to duplicate on my knife builds. I dont think there is a better value for a sub $15 knife.
I ordered 3 of the Lauri small knife blanks for some smaller elk antler pieces I had sitting around for some time. They are a great product you might expect to pay way more for then 7 bucks. I just ordered some more. They are described as a carving knife, I like it as a trout-bird or everyday carry. Excellent product, EXCELLENT company.
Very nice blade for a small neck knife. I just completed this one. I used wenge, beech , and orange osage.
This is a stunning knife, dexterous and comfortable for medium/large man hands
I really like the Finman! It's like my Mora Basic 511 only with a slightly more comfy handle but with a less refined, unpolished blade. I like the sheath on the Finman as it can hang on a peg above my work bench or slips easily in a pocket or pack. If you want a knife with a belt sheath, the 511 Mora would be a better choice as the sheath for the Finman isn't really good for a belt in my opinion. Both the Finman and the Mora 511 are my favorite size knives. Buy them both and use the heck out of them, they're cheap enough!!
Always great supply and price and promot shipping on knives from Finland and Sweden, especially the Mora Basic, in annual edition colors. And a friendly note from proprietor Richard thanking for each purchase.
Built this to build as a gift....quite pleased (as normal with the other Lauri blades i've purchased).....paired with a stained, spalted sweet gum handle finished with lacquer....going to order a couple more!
