Lauri Carving 125 Carbon Steel Blade with Ricasso

A solid knife at a solid price point. I think the sheathe is worth it as well. It shipped and arrived very quickly.

This knife is as good a puukko knife as one can get. The epitome of knife making. The blade is awesome, beautiful Damascus patten, the wood is nice, and the size is perfect. The sheath is one of the best I've seen. A really fantastic knife. Warren Thacker really nailed this one.

For years I have bought the annual commemorative 511/546 combo. I typically give the 511 away and keep the 546. The other day the lucky recipient of the blue/Dala Red 511 was explaining to me how carbon steel is easier to sharpen and will hold an edge longer than stainless. I just smiled, as he clearly has never owned a Mora stainless! This blue and red knife was perfect for him, in part because his nickname is Red! LOL Yet he is also a retired vehicle mechanic, and has many, many tools, and had never heard of Mora knives until I introduced him to them. He marveled at the quality, the functionality, and the price. He also appreciated the high visibility of the color. When I shared the high quality customer service from Ragweed Forge, he basically said, "doesn't get any better than high quality and excellent customer service!" I readily agreed. Ragweed Forge exclusive => Must have! I really don't know how many 511/546 Mora Utility knives I have bought. One in each tool bag, in drawers in the house, in my car, I've given many as gifts. Almost all have come from Ragweed Forge (I bought a few before I found Mora Mecca!)

This one is a treasure! It is a perfect example of Mora 511 simplicity, quality, and functionality. I even marvel at the sheaths, and how the little retention ****/dimple system is so clever. Beyond the renowned steel, Scandi grind, blade sharpness and durability, the attention to detail and functionality are impeccable. What a perfect depiction of service (a hallmark of Ragweed Forge) with the frosty tang sleeve encased in Dala Red. I've been making knives for several years now, and this is one of the best finds Ive come across with. The grind on the edge and finish are superb and the lenght of the tamg gave me material to fit the handle size to my liking. Was so happy that bought two more right away because I want to use different handle materials. This first one is moose horn.

I owned a few Wood Jewel knives from back when Ragnar was around. They disappeared somehow 😡. So I decided to start over. The grip on mine is wider at the top then the bottom, which is great....fits my hand perfect. Fit and finish is top notch, very attractive antler and Wood. I love antler on knife grips....I really really love curly birch, the grain is so......mesmerizing. Many reasons why I like Wood Jewel knives is they are basic classic knives; very well made, great materials but no frills. The edge was out of box sharp, but me being me got it a bit sharper. I've always admired the forge black on the blades, gives them a rustic old world look. I am very satisfied with my new knife and will make it a part of me!!
