The New Mora Eldris LD - Mora decided to make a more affordable version of the Eldris so that everyone can have one! The Shape and size are very similar to the original and it is just as comfortable in the hand. . There is no distal taper to this blade.

wonderful carver

My favorite knife for spoon carving. Easy pocket carry on trips.
I've never tried the original eldris, and probably won't. Because the rounded back of the light duty eldris blade is just what you need for detailed carving work.

Eldris knife is just what I wanted.

It's the light model, sharp all the way to the handle, which is good for wood carving. Pocket size, so it'll be easy to have it along.
Redbeard also found a matching replacement sheath for the Nying; it's a very specific sheath with a keeper that precisely fits the nub at the end of the handle. I clobbered the original a few years ago.
I've been using the Mora wood carving knives for years.
I've been a Ragweed Forge customer for several years and I definitely will continue to buy from them.
