John Myshkoff has a passion for not just making usable puukko's but they must be as attractive as they are ready for work. Absolutely beautiful work as always. All of his sheaths fit their knives just perfectly.

This knife started as a Puronvarsi 85mm Blade. This high carbon blade was polished to Satin 800x finish.

The handle On this one is made from some of the best walnut I have ever seen on a knife handle with a linseed oil finish. The Bolster is German Silver is dimpled which really gives it a great touch, and the endcap is an excellent contrasting piece of Ebony wood.

The Sheath is made from Brown buffalo leather pouch type sheath, Lauri lasta with sewn belt loop.

I always enjoy these North Wolf knives but this one sure stands out. Fits the hand excellent and fits in the sheath as a puukko should.

This # 25 is my 2nd North Wolf & is very similar to Redbeard's own, among his--& now my--fave puukkos. Looking at your reflection in the bright mirror-polished BLADE, you'd think it's stainless, but it's actually authentic Finnish Puronvarsi high carbon steel polished to 800X, ultra sharp if a bit short at just over 3 1/4 in, though all of that is a cutting edge, as there's no ricasso at its hefty 1/8-in-thick base. Accomodating all but the smallest hand, the HANDLE is 4 1/4 in long & is beautifully grained linseed-oiled dark walnut--smooth as Taylor Swift's inner thighs--between genuine ebony pommel & 9/32-in-wide matching piece below bolster, itself a work of nickel-silver art, subtley stippled on top, satin-smooth on side, exceptionally thick at 3/16 in. The dark brown side-seam SHEATH is buffalo leather, probably water buffalo, as it's smooth unlike most N. American bison that's nubby in texture. I'd prefer a traditional dangler instead of the 1-piece belt attachment, but at least its sewn in a loop onto scabbard near top to allow some movement, & the just-tight-enough fit & 2+ in exposed handle allows quick & easy withdrawal. This NWRES # 25 is a clean & pristine puukko worth the $359.99 price.
