Samson SAMS-Dangler

The dangler drops the sheath a bit over 4", and allows it to move freely for comfort when sitting. If you are backpacking, it may also allow you to use the sheath when wearing a waist band on your pack. It's on a split ring (like a key ring), so it would be easy to add to any sheath with a reasonably narrow belt loop.
