Järvenpää Elk Hunter #7389-o Stainless Steel Blade

The Järvenpää Elk Hunter comes with a long stainless blade for butchering large game. The handle has has a finger stop to keep your hand from sliding up on the blade when slippery. The handle is made of curly birch and has a moose designed carved into it. For a large knife, it is quite comfortable in the hand. This knife would make quick work out of processing larger game.  This item comes with a genuine leather sheath as pictured. 

The finger-guarded Moose Hunt is a model derived from the popular 1920s Hirvijahtipuukko. It features a long 15 cm blade and a finger guard on the handle to prevent the index finger from slipping onto the blade. The blade is made of stainless steel, which is easy to maintain. The handle is lacquered curly birch with a burnt-in image of a moose. Between the handle and the blade, there is a flat nickel silver bolster. The Moose Hunt with finger guard can also be chosen without the moose image on the handle. 

The Moose Hunt is designed to function as a stabbing knife for moose hunters, and its long blade is also useful on hiking trips and around the campfire. For other game and hunting purposes, we also recommend our shorter-bladed models, such as the Aito or the Game Knife. However, the Moose Hunt is certainly an impressive companion around the fire. 

The sheath design has remained unchanged for over a hundred years, and it is available in both light or dark brown. The sheath is fully stitched and features a subtle, embossed decorative pattern. A metal reinforcement is added to the tip. The sheath is made of domestically sourced vegetable-tanned leather.
