I just received a custom Puukko style knife from JL Knives and Wow! what a knife. The fit and finish of the knife and sheath is what I would call Exceptional in every sense of the word. The choice of handle materials is perfect with a pink (actually a beautiful shade of red) ivory wood and very nicely figured Zebra bone handle. The transitions are smooth and feel great in the hand. The knife also arrived with a beautifully made and perfectly fitted traditional puukko leather sheath. Beautiful, very well made and appears to be capable of any cutting task you may have. Fits HD Companion

This sheath also fits the Companion HD, which has a slightly fatter handle than the standard companion. I wet formed it and it is holding its shape nicely. Good thick leather.

I'm a huge fan of the the Mora Eldris, and wanted to make something similar, but with my own spin. I make magic wands, and I look at my carving knives as my wands. I handled it with bog oak, lapis lazuli, and silver.

Helle Blade 55 (Nying) H3LS

Great Blade!

This is a great all-around blade, hunting, bushcraft, just general use. Mine came quite sharp, and I have cleaned the black off for a polished blade. I have not completed shaping and installing the Bocote scale blanks I got from RF as well, but the knife will be a stunner when its done! Fast shipping, well packed as always.

Jesse Lerman has been buying our blades for some time now and as soon as we started seeing pictures of his work, We immediately knew we had to offer them for the world to see. Jesse sure is a master at his craft. These puukko's are traditional, great users, and absolutely beautiful.

This knife started as a Lauri Carving 80mm Stainless blade from Finland. The handle is stunning and made of stabilized Karelian Birch with Nickel Silver and G10 spacers leading to the Bolster and pommel. The smooth transitions are pretty amazing.

The bolster and pommel are Nickel Silver and the tang is properly and very cleanly peened at the pommel. Total length of knife: 7.25in

The Sheath is brown veg-tanned leather, hand sewn, hand stitched, with a brass D-ring holding on a nice dangler. The Puukko fits about perfectly into the sheath to be sure it will not come out by accident.

Quite the piece of art that is made to be used.
