This is my 1st Kola Woodcraft to add to 50+ puukko collection, variety its theme. Though I once had a gorgeous GF named Lauri, she was not nearly as sharp as this trusty 80CrV2 HCS hand-hammered 95mm BLADE from Old Country. For the metrically challenged, it measures L 3 5/8" × W 3/4" × TH 1/8", just right for a puukko. I like the rustic look of the round black hammer-marks paralleling spine & on 5/16" ricasso, how it echoes extra-thick black micarta spacers & black striations in wolf's head. NiS GUARD is nicely polished to same reflectivity as shiny portion of blade. Bronze snarling wolf pommel is great looking, adds weight that shifts balance "south" to very center of lovely swirling curly birch HANDLE, top 1/3 natural, bottom stained purple, an unusual color I've not seen in any previous puukko. Knife alone weighs just under 6 oz, relatively heavy for a puukko. Dark tan SHEATH is thick vege-tanned cow leather with howling wolf etched on front, a desireable tie-in with pommel. Simple wide belt loop is attached with a sturdy rivet, but preferring a dangler, I added Helle's excellent but pricey $24.90 tan Belt Clip, which fits perfectly & matches, too. Unfortunately, sideseam is flawed: the leather between the 2 sides has a gap on the back side top to bottom, allowing the blade to slide against stitching it's supposed to protect, so must be extremely careful when removing & replacing this otherwise very good knife, appropriately priced at $299.99.
