Mora Carving #106 (Original) Laminated Blade

Hi, This is my second sloyd knife from Mora. It's great and easy to sharpen if you pay attention and go slow. Glue a piece of leather or something non slick to the inside of the funky plastic sheath so the knife does not fall out.

I recently started carving spoons. My first dedicated carving tools were Elemental knives. After a few spoons I decided to check out the Mora 106 as an upgrade. I ordered it from Ragweed Forge and it arrived promptly. The blade is sharp and sturdy. The handle is nice, clear birch. There is no varnish on the handle so it feels good in hand and had good grip traction. I have worked on two spoons with this knife so far. It seems to hold an edge well. The blade is sturdier than the knife I have been using. I strope at the end of each session but I'm not sure I've needed to yet. It seems to hold an edge well. The plastic sheath Mora provides is functional but not pretty. I am happy with my purchase and plan to pick up a Mora hook knife one of these days.
