Mora Garberg Blackblade Dala Red Carbon with Simple Poly Sheath #14274

A knife is a tool, I respect my tools, and I use them. This knife has attributes that are very useful, they may not be for everyone but I find the design is near perfect for me. It’s not too big, not too small, fits my hands, and the Dala red is a good contrast to see it if put down. It’s mora steel, razor sharp, scandi ground, and becomes an extension of my hands. It’s nice price, and durable enough for hard survival purposes but for fine carving and other work too. You can upgrade the sheath or try to wear it out, in the end it works and is a great value. As it’s poly, it holds no moisture, a concern for carbon blades, but you should be caring for the blades anyhow so it still works great.
I ordered 3, hopefully I will live to wear them out but never abuse them. I’ll take care of them them as they will serve me well.

I previously owned a Garberg CS knife, but did not care for “all black” look. The red handle takes away the “Ninja” look. I did modify the grind to convex, I reworked the transition to the drop point to make a more rounder transition. I also rounded off the spine on the drop point to make push cuts more comfortable. Not sure I see the necessity of a full tang over a full length stick tang, but this is a good knife.

Well... I didn't really NEED another Garberg... it was more a matter of WANT. I asked to be notified when they hit the door at Ragweed. I got an email telling me they had arrived on Friday, 9 Feb and I wasted no time pulling the trigger. Redbeard wasted no time processing my order and I received it on Monday, 12 Feb. Now THAT's excellent customer service! I haven't had a chance to use it yet, but I'm sure it's just as good as my other Garbergs. Thanks Ragweed Forge!!
