If you've never used a Kansbol, you're missing out. It is an exceptional design that no one else has replicated. The dual grind works precisely as intended: slices food like an Opinel at the tip, but processes wood toward the tang like your favorite Mora Companion. The blade is thin, meaning it remains slicey, like a puukko, and isn't just a glorified batoning tool like so many overbuilt outdoor knives. However, despite the thin stock, the short scandi grind towards the tang still gives you the geometry you need to baton. The 90 degree spine works like a charm with a ferro rod or with scraping wood or bark. On top of all this, it has the best sheath Mora makes--the same as the Garberg. The sheath is elegant, and has exceptional retention. The dangler attachment works very well. The whole package is light enough that I plan to carry mine as a neck carry when backpacking. And look at that red... come on... it looks awesome. Thanks to Redbeard for making these accessible to us at such a fair price out here in the U.S.
