The Mora Kansbol combines the handle configuration of the Garberg with the blade from the popular 2000. The basic grind on the blade is the usual Scandi, but it also has the additional "profile grind" on the forward part of the blade that thins the blade along the skinning curve. Unlike the 2000, the spine of the blade is squared for use with a fire starter, and it's left in a semi-matt finish. This is about a third of the weight of the Garberg. The result is a full sized, but light-weight knife that is more than stout enough for normal hiking, hunting or camping chores. The handle works better for me than the one on the 2000, or even the Forest (the other Morakniv that uses the 2000 blade). It's equally comfortable with the edge down, or edge up. The sheath comes with a simple belt hanger that will take belts up to 2 1/2" wide. The knife locks snugly into the sheath.

Everything I was hoping for!

The knife is great, and I love the feeling of the handle in hand. It’s a very well thought out Mora. The only thing I had a little trouble with was sharpening the narrow scandi bevel. I’m a very experienced hand sharpener and I found it challenging. I still got it done, and ultimately the benefits of the thinner tip are worth it. I love the sheath and frankly Mora does an amazing job delivering value.

This is a great companion for virtually all adventures outdoors

I have purchased 3 of these great knives for my sons and myself. I just got a 4th to replace the one that sank in the marsh while duck hunting. Light, strong, easy to sharpen, great grip, and comfortable dangle sheath. Never want to be without one.

Overlooked Boat knife

I was USCG Vietnam and post era.
Translation; little funding and we bought our own knives. Myerchins were ‘salty’ and
Sported terrible scrimshaw and fumbling

The Kansbol, in orange is perfect for saltwater use! I use my green ON the beach
Processing driftwood ( great colored flames) and prepping hotdogs with the precision tip.

Thank you for a great review. We also love the grind on this one!
