This puukko combines its best features in 1 fine Finnish knife at quite affordable price. The only writing, on obverse side of blade, is "Jisakki Jarvenpaa Stainless Finland," & to be pretty confident it's very good, that's all you really need to know. Of course I'll sweat the small stuff to make you absolutely sure by fleshing out RF's rather sketchy despription: Bright mirror-polished SS BLADE measures L 4 5/16", including 1/4" ricasso × W 25/32" × THK 3/32". Though not strictly authentic, today's stainless steels (components/RH of this blade not provided) are hard to beat--they sharpen readily, stay sharp, rarely fail, & never tarnish. The spine of this one about 2 1/3" from guard starts a slight down-then-back-up swoop to tip as edge in same spot on opposite side commences its drop to point. Together, these confer a most-appealing "cutlass" look. Including 1/8"-thick brass, maybe bronze guard, HANDLE measures L 4 3/4" on longest, spine side × CIRCUMF 3 1/4" at thickest middle. Below guard lies 2 1/2" of wonderfully grippy stacked speckled birchbark washers bracketed at both ends with black G-10. Pommel carved of beautifully mottled curly birch in full birdhead shape measures 1 5/8" along spineside "neck," but opposite-side "beak" points ~20° downward, effectively reducing edgeside grip area by 1/2". It's a tight but acceptable fit for my XL hands with slender fingers, but might be too small if yours are both long & meaty. Easily fits anyone with M to L hands. Tang is smoothly brass-bradded on bottom of otherwise flat pommel. Undecorated cowhide SHEATH is my personal fave rear-seam dangler, though picky I would prefer flared tip not cut off. Plastic lasta inside protects leather from blade's ultra-sharp point. Surrounding top to reinforce opening, 1/2"-wide bright brass oval also holds swiveling ring on back side to which leather belt loop is chrome-rivetted. It'll fit up to a 2 1/2"-wide waist-belt & even has a slot to hang on a button as do some Saami. Whole rig weighs only 4 1/2 oz, 1 1/4 oz of which is sheath. My 62nd puukko, this SS JGK #6258-o gathers together just about everything desireable in a Scandinavian cutter at a near-bargain price.
