This K. Wolverine I've had for several years is still among my most favorite, but just realized I'd never posted a review. BLADE pictured is not Damasteel, as they never have inscriptions that would obscure beauty of design & instead feature K./moose logo in round antler insert in handle on same obverse side near pommel like this 1. Damasteel, manufactured in pristine Swedish clean-room conditions in many patterns, each having a name, is probably the best damascus steel currently available, & this 1 is a generous 3 15/16" long counting 1/4" ricasso. Width = 13/16". Thickness is a full 1/8", & you can salivate over sideways damasteel pattern along entire length of spine. HANDLE: Below 3/32"-thick brass guard lie 2 separate 1/2-in deer antler inserts alternating with 2 wonderfully mottled light masur birch, the pommel portion flared dramatically outward & flat-bottomed to facilitate pounding knife thru particularly tough stuff with heel of hand or fist. But what makes this perfectly flat-bottomed pommel super-cool is this puukko can be stood straight up readily on any flat surface--either to keep blade clean or just for kicks. Whole handle appears laminated in a clear coat that's easy to clean yet sufficiently grippy due to pommel shape. SHEATH is equally impressive with masur birch lower portion matching knife handle, the vertical deer antler insert embossed with cryptic Saami designs, upper leather portion embossed on front, rear sewn together along center line. Whole rig dangles from belt on twisted leather thong. Fantastic! If you're seeking a traditional authentic Scandinavian puukko with all the bells & whistles, this is it. Price? Just compare other 4-in damasteel-bladed cutters, & you'll find this Karesuando Jarven's $499.99 is really quite reasonable.
