The Roselli Leuku is a big knife. The leuku is the camp knife of the Sami (Laplander) people. It's used for everything from building shelters and gathering firewood to butchering reindeer. This one has over 7" of blade and 5" of handle. The blade is a heavy with the balance forward for efficient chopping. The knife and sheath weight just under a pound. With its large size and weight, Big Leuku feels like a mix of knife, axe and machete. Roselli’s Big Leuku is a traditional handmade Finnish tool used by everyone from reindeer herders to carpenters – for chopping, cutting, separating bones, carving and for lots of other tasks in outdoor life and survival in the wilderness.
The blade is made from forged carbon steel and the handle is curly birch, coated with linseed oil – which ensure a firm grip, even when wet. Comes with a handcrafted sheath of light vegetable tanned Finnish leather.
