Description
When Helle decided to make a full flat grind knife, the Mandra was the obvious choice. It is small, well-proportioned and has a blade shape that invites slicing. It fits in your pocket, on your belt or around your neck, and is ready and available whenever you need to harvest, cut, slice, dice or cook - the new Mandra FG is the ultimate allround blade for the hiker that enjoys the food breaks as much as the hike itself.
Whereas the standard Mandra's scandi grind performs well for most tasks, the Mandra FG excels at slicing. Whether you are harvesting mushrooms or slicing them up on your cutting board, the new Mandra FG's 12C27 blade will make sure that you cut clean and cut good. Although the same shape, it has a slightly thicker handle than the standard Mandra because the white liners are thicker. This creates a very balanced blade that you can work with over time.
The Mandra FG comes with a tan leather sheath with a snap button for secure attachment. The white stitching matches the colour of the liner of the knife.
The original Mandra was the third knife developed in collaboration with "Survivorman" Les Stroud. The name Mândra means 'Proud' in Romanian.
