Seriously Flawed Puukko

I'm surprised maker John Lisack would send such a seriously flawed knife to Redbeard, not inform of problem, & expect him to sell it at full $139.99 price. Expand to max 1st photo & look at ricasso. That bright mark just above brass guard is an increasingly deep trench in blade from midline to spine. Not noticeable in pics, but the entire blade is actually tilted somewhat forward. Too bad, as the otherwise pristine blade is an authentic Finnish Lauri 84-mm high carbon carving one, & ergonomic handle of 2 woods having diffent colors & patterns features emerald green fiber spacers between them, making for a great-looking medium-size puukko. Soft, pliable, med-dark-brown sideseam sheath is easy to convert from neck- to waist-carry, as extra-long leather lanyard is threaded thru 2 holes at top, making pouch lay flat against body either way. I returned rig to Redbeard, who of course apologized for missing flaw & readily refunded the $139.99. That would have been a really good price were the puukko perfect.

Description

John Lisack has been a customer for quite some time now. He started sharing pictures of his work and here we are! These are simple knives but he really takes the time to match the blade to the handle for a comfortable fit!

This one started with the well-known Lauri Carving 84mm High Carbon Steel Blade made in Finland.  The Handle is made from Lacewood with two pieces of Olivewood on either end. The contrast in grain between the two is real neat. I like how this one turned out. Fiber Spacers and Brass Bolster

Blade Length: 3 3/8

Total Length: 8"

The Brown leather neck sheath is great! Soft, comfortable leather to lay nicely against the chest. The thong is long enough to be used for a neck knife. It can also easily be shortened up and retied and used as a belt loop. This design works out pretty nicely!
